Expedition Assessor Accreditation
From January 2009 all Expedition Assessors will need to
be accredited by the Award. Generally people will fall into one of
three categories:
Current Wild Country Assessors
Holders of current Wild Country Assessor status can transfer
automatically to the new scheme by completing a
course application
form - The Wild Country Assessor scheme will cease in 2009.
Existing experienced Assessors
People with at least three years experience can become accredited by
completing a short "Transitional Course" without the need to go through
the full accreditation process - This is a temporary arrangement for
2008 only. after 1st January 2009 even experienced assessors will
be required to do the full course.
New Assessors
Anyone with less than three years experience of assessing will need to
do the full course which consists of an on-line learning module, an
introduction to the Award, a full day Assessor course and a supported
assessment.
